Failure is not such a bad thing, and here are 4 reasons why

“Fail, fail again, fail better” — Pema Chödrön

No one who ever started a business has ever wanted or expected it to fail. But so many businesses fail despite high hopes and thorough preparation. Some take it as a direct reflection of their worth and give up at the first sign of failure.

Some — the ones who remember that there is a reason for everything — take those failures and use them as stepping stones to their success.

The truth is that failure is good. Failure is okay, even in business. While this may seem contradictory to most, there are some who understand exactly why this is true. Read on to understand this better and understand the value of embracing and welcoming failure.

1. Everyone has failed

This is something every successful person knows because every successful person has failed horribly at least once. The only thing that differentiates them from every other person is they chose to keep on pushing until they got what they wanted.

2. Failure is an opportunity to learn

When you fail, it’s usually because you made a few mistakes here and there. There’s no one out here who will persecute you for making those mistakes if you choose to learn from them.

Take failure as an opportunity to learn more about yourself, your company, its strengths and weaknesses so the next time you try, you’ll be much wiser and you know where to not go wrong again.

3. Failure promotes strength and perseverance

Immediate success isn’t something that helps you cultivate perseverance. The very fact that it’s immediate is a sure sign of this.

Perseverance is brought on by encountering problems and troubles again and again and never giving up until you’ve conquered them all. This makes you stronger and braver.

Not being afraid of failure helps you take more risks since you understand it’s okay to not hit the jackpot every single time.

4. Failure makes success more worth it

This. This is what should keep you going. When you’ve experienced pain and disappointment so many times, it’s going to be amazing when you finally look it in the eye and tell it that you overcame it.
